Will Putin launch multiple missiles at once?

In a press conference in Kazakhstan's capital, Astana, Putin mentioned hypersonic missiles and said, We do not rule out the possibility of using operational missiles against military, military-industrial, or decision-making centers, including Kyiv.

Last week, Russia tested its new operonic ballistic missile on Ukraine, and on Thursday, Putin claimed that launching several weapons at once would have the same power as a nuclear attack of an asteroid strike.

He had earlier stated that the overnight bombing was a response to the continuous attack on our territory by (American) ATACMS missiles.

As I have said repeatedly, three will always be a response from our side.

Putin also claimed that Russia knows how many long-range weapons Kyiv has been given and where they are located.

Attack on Kyiv is proof of Putin's weakness - PM Tusk.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that Putin's threat to attack Kyiv is a sign of weakness and added that the West will not be troubled by his words.

The latest attacks come at a time when the people of Ukraine are preparing for a harsh winter, as most of their energy infrastructure has already been damaged due to nearly three years of war, and Russia troops are advancing in eastern Ukraine.

According to reports, tensions have significantly increased in recent weeks, as both sides are trying to gain an advantage on the battlefield before Trump's inauguration in January.

Putin hinted he has hopes for Trump's second term, calling the Republican a wise person who is capable of finding a solution although he did not specify what he was referring to.

The Russia leader made these comments just hours after the overnight bombing, which caused a power outage for over 500,00 consumers in Ukraine's western Lviv region.

Millions of people are forced to live without electricity.

Officials reported that 280,000 people in the western Rivne region and 215,000 people in the northwestern Volyn region also lost power. Ukraine's emergency services stated that Russia's overnight attacks caused damage in 14 regions across the country, with the western part of the country being the most affected.

Zelensky said that Russia also used cluster munitions during the attacks, calling it a very despicable extension of Russian terrorist tactics.

AFP reporters in the capital Kyiv heard explosions throughout the night as air defense systems targeted Russian drones and missiles. Locals were crowding into the underground metro system for shelter.

The Ministry of Energy stated that this was Russia's 11th major attack on Ukraine civilian energy infrastructure this year.

A senior UN official, Rosemary Di Carlo, had warned earlier this month that Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure could make this winter the harshest since the beginning of the war

Putin praised the new missile.

Since Moscow surprised the West and Kyiv last week by testing its new ballistic missile, Opryonik, on the city of Dnipro, Russian officials have been boasting about the power of this weapon.

In Astana, Putin said that Opryonik can turn anything into "dust" and can attack at temperatures equal to the 'surface of the sun"

He added that after Kyiv's first attack on Russian territory using ATACMS, Russian was  forces to test the weapon in a war situation.

On Thursday, Putin said that Opryonik can travel at a speed of "almost three kilometers per second" and its components can reach temperature "similar to the surface of the sun."
