The Canadian government has now changed its stance and issued a statement today, calling the allegations against PM Modi and other Indian officials baseless. The Canadian government stated that they have no evidence linking Prime Minister Modi, Jaishankar, or NSA Doval to serious criminal activities within Canada.

Allegation against PM Modi and haishankar denied
The statement said that on October 14, due to a significant and ongoing threat to public safety, the RCMP and authorities took the extraordinary step of making public allegation of serious criminal activities by agents of the Indian government in Canada.
However, the Canadian government has no evidence, nor any knowledge, linking Prime Minister Modi, Minister Jaishankar, or NSA Doval to serious criminal activities stated that these claims are merely speculative.
What did Canada say earlier?
A Canadian media report claimed that Indian Prime Minister Narendar Modi was allegedly aware of the conspiracy behind the killing of Sikh extremist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. This report was published based on information from an unnamed official.
However, India dismissed this report as a smear campaign and strongly condemned it.
What was India's response?
India strongly opposed the report Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal called the allegation absurd and said it was necessary to address them properly. He stated harm the already strained relation between the two countries. Jaiswal was responding to media questions about the report published in the Canadian newspaper The Globe and Mail.
Nijjar was killed in Canada
In June 2023, Khalistan supporter and terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar was shot dead outside a gurdwara. However, it is still unclear who was behind this killing.
The Canadian government had accused Indian officials of being involved in the murder. It is worth noting that Nijjar worked for Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI India had repeatedly requested his extradition, But Canada not only provided him asylum but also granted him citizenship.
