It is worth mentioning that on Wednesday, a suicide attack at a joint checkpoint in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province killed 12 security personnel. The attacker rammed a vehicle filled with explosives into the checkpoint. Six attackers were also killed during the incident.
The army has not provided information on who was behind the attack, but an Islamic group led by Hafiz Gul Bahadur has claimed responsibility. The attack occurred after approval was given for a large military operation against Baluchistan rebels. This decision was made by the federal high-level committee, which was chaired by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and attended by federal ministers, chief ministers, Army Chief General Syed Asmi Munir, and senior government officials.
The injured have been taken to the hospital.
An official said that the attackers attempted to enter a joint checkpoint in Malik hail, Banu district, late Tuesday night. However, they failed to enter, after which a vehicle filled with explosives. was driven into the checkpoint. This caused part of the wall to collapse and damaged nearby structures. Gunfire started later, and six attackers were killed. Those injured in the attack have been taken to the hospital.
